Erich Thomas

Erich Thomas (born September 23, 1922 in Frankfurt am Main ; † April 24, 2011 ) was a German lawyer .

After studying law, Thomas passed the first state examination at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena in November 1944 . In July 1949 the second state examination followed in Hamburg . On August 1, 1949, he began his legal career at the Hamburg Regional Court , where he initially worked as a criminal judge for five years. In 1954 he worked as a judge at the Hamburg Regional Social Court . On July 1, 1971 he became chairman of an employee and war victims senate of the regional social court . From February 1, 1974, he was a judge at the Federal Social Court until he retired at the end of March 1987. He was a member of the 8th and 10th Senate of the Federal Social Court and was therefore concerned with matters relating to accident and health insurance , provisions for war victims , bankruptcy loss benefit law and child benefit law.

Thomas died in April 2011 at the age of 88.
