Erich Wacker (born March 19, 1933 ) is a former German football player who was active in 1959 for BSG Chemie Zeitz in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

Erich Wacker's career in higher-class football began in the 1954/55 season, in which he played thirteen of 26 point games in the second-rate GDR league for the company sports association (BSG) Chemie Zeitz . He also scored a goal once. In the following seasons Wacker did not get beyond the role of a substitute player. While his GDR league missions in 1956 (calendar year season) and 1958 with six games each were in the single-digit range, he was able to complete at least half of the point games played in the 1957 season. Only in 1958, when Chemie Zeitz was promoted to the GDR Oberliga, was he one of the Zeitzer's goal scorers with two goals. In the 1959 league season, Wacker was only used in four games during the first half of the season. He only stood on the pitch once for 90 minutes when he was called up as a left winger for the injured Dieter Volkmar . After this season Erich Wacker no longer appeared in the top football leagues. In his five seasons for BSG Chemie Zeitz he was used in 42 point games in which he scored three goals.
