Erich Weber (writer)

Erich Weber (born May 14, 1899 in Halle an der Saale , † February 23, 1928 in Berlin ) was a German writer .

Life

Erich Weber grew up in Halle, where he attended elementary school. From 1916 he served as a soldier in World War I, then he studied medicine in his hometown until 1924. In the same year Weber moved to Berlin, where he associated with the Weltbühne group around Carl von Ossietzky and Kurt Tucholsky and emerged as a cabaret poet.

Weber died as a result of an appendix operation. His individual publications fell victim to the book burning and are considered lost.
