Erigone is a genus from the family of linyphiidae (Linyphiidae). The genus includes approx. 163 species . The species reach a maximum size of 1.5 to three millimeters and inhabit all climatic zones worldwide, including arctic and alpine habitats and coasts ,including the intertidal zone, with a wealth of individuals.

In Central Europe about 14 species are native. The most common are Erigone atra (probably the most common spider in Central Europe), Erigone dentipalpis and Erigone arctica .
