Erik Blomberg (director)
Erik Blomberg (born September 18, 1913 in Helsinki , † October 12, 1996 in Kuusjoki ) was a Finnish cameraman , film producer , screenwriter and director .

Blomberg's parents were Wilhelm Blomberg, a mining engineer, and Martha Grönvik, a nurse.
Blomberg began his forty year career in Finnish film as a cameraman and became an independent producer of his own films. He achieved his greatest success with The White Reindeer , which he wrote, directed and edited. The work was shown at the Cannes International Film Festival in 1953 and was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 1957 Golden Globe . At the end of the 1960s, Blomberg switched to television.
Blomberg was married to the actress Mirjami Kuosmanen .
