Kuusjoki [ ˈkuːsjɔki ] is a former municipality in southwest Finland . At the beginning of 2009 it was incorporated into the city of Salo .

Kuusjoki is located in the Varsinais-Suomi countryside, 20 km north of Salo city center. After Turku is 70 km to the capital Helsinki 130 km away. The municipality had an area of ​​122.73 km². The villages of Hämäläistenkylä, Impola, Kanunki, Kurkela, Kuttila, Kuusjoenperä, Pappila, Raatala and Tiskarla belonged to Kuusjoki. Lake Nummijärvi, which is famous for its crystal clear water, is located in the former municipal area. Kuusjoki last had 1724 inhabitants. The community was monolingual in Finnish .

From 1822 Kuusjoki was a chapel parish of the Uskela parish . The political community Kuusjoki was created in 1865 when the administration of the rural communities was separated from the church administration. The chapel congregation was placed under Pertteli in 1884 and raised to an independent church congregation in 1913. At the beginning of 2009, Kuusjoki was incorporated into Salo together with the eight communities Halikko , Kiikala , Kisko , Muurla , Perniö , Pertteli, Särkisalo and Suomusjärvi .
