Kiikala [ ˈkiːkɑlɑ ] is a former municipality in southwest Finland . At the beginning of 2009 it was incorporated into the city of Salo .

Kiikala is located in the east of the Varsinais-Suomi countryside, 30 km northeast of the city center of Salo. The state highway 1 from Turku to Helsinki through the town. It is 85 kilometers to Turku and 100 kilometers to Helsinki. The municipality of Kiikala had an area of ​​245.30 km². The nature in the former municipality is diverse. A glass factory was founded in Kiikala as early as 1813 to exploit the quartz sand deposits in the area. Today bricks and putty are made in Kiikala, there is also a metal industry. Many residents of Kiikala commute to work, most of them to nearby Salo and many to the capital Helsinki. In Kiikala there is an airfield that is used by glider pilots and the Finnish Air Force .

The Kiikala community was founded in 1892. In 2009 the community was incorporated into Salo together with Halikko , Kisko , Kuusjoki , Muurla , Perniö , Pertteli , Särkisalo and Suomusjärvi .
