Pertteli [ ˈpɛrtːɛli ] ( Swedish. S: t Bertils ) is a former community in southwest Finland . In early 2009 it was incorporated into the city of Salo .

Pertteli is located in the Varsinais-Suomi countryside, 10 km from Salo city center. The state highway 1 from the capital Helsinki in the 60km away Turku performs Pertteli. The municipality of Pertteli had an area of ​​156.12 km². The community had three settlement centers ( taajama ): Kaivola, Inkere and Hähkänä. There is a school in all three settlement centers. Pertteli also included the villages of Haali, Isohiisi, Kajala, Kaukola, Nokkahiisi, Patala, Pitkäkoski, Pöytiö, Romsila, Tattula, Valkjärvi, Vihmalo and Vähähiisi. The last population of Pertteli was 4,036. The community was monolingual in Finnish . Pertteli is a center of the plastics industry . The largest company based in the community is a manufacturer of reflectors .

Pertteli probably became a chapel parish of the Uskela parish at the beginning of the 15th century . The church of Pertteli , a stone church from the early 16th century, is dedicated to Saint Bartholomew . The name Pertteli is a Finnish corruption of the Swedish form of the name Bertil for Bartholomäus. The saint is also depicted in the former municipal coat of arms. The political community Pertteli was established in 1860 when the administration of the rural communities was separated from the church administration. At the beginning of 2009, Pertteli was incorporated into Salo together with the eight communities Halikko , Kiikala , Kisko , Kuusjoki , Muurla , Perniö , Särkisalo and Suomusjärvi .
