Erik Larsen (tennis player)

Erik Øckenholt Larsen (born August 23, 1880 in Copenhagen , † after 1914 in London ) was a Danish tennis player.

Career

Larsen was the first Dane to take part in the Wimbledon Championships in 1905 . In 1907 he reached the All-Comers final at the German championships , but lost to Otto Froitzheim . In 1913 he achieved his best result at the Wimbledon tournament by reaching the round of 16. In the same year he also made it into the final of the British Indoor Championships , in which he was defeated, however, by Percival May Davson in four sets.

Larsen also competed in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm . In both singles and mixed games at the side of Thora Castenschiold , however, he was eliminated after his opening games.
