Erik Liebermann

Erik Liebermann (born September 7, 1942 in Munich ) is a German cartoonist .

Life

Liebermann is the son of the painter and teacher Heinz Liebermann. His grandfather was the sculptor Ferdinand Liebermann .

Liebermann studied at the Ulm School of Design . During his student days in 1969 there were first cartoon publications; in the same year he obtained his diploma as industrial designer . He was part of the team that was responsible for the visual design for the 1972 Summer Olympics . From 1972 to 1975 he worked in various design offices.

He has been a full-time cartoonist since 1975. His cartoons now appear in numerous newspapers and magazines, among others. a. in the Süddeutsche Zeitung , in the Frankfurter Rundschau , in the Deutsches Allgemeine Sonntagsblatt . He also draws cartoons and illustrations for advertising.

His cartoons have appeared in several books and edited volumes. Exhibitions of his works have been shown in Munich, Augsburg, Heidelberg and Ulm. Several solo exhibitions with his originals take place every year, which go beyond the realm of pure graphics through collages and additional effects.

Private

Erik Liebermann is married to the illustrator Beate Speck-Kafkoulas and lives in Steingaden .
