Carl-Erik von Braun
Carl-Erik von Braun (born November 14, 1896 in Gothenburg , † November 2, 1981 in Helsingborg ) was a Swedish tennis player in the 1920s.
Career
Von Braun took part in the Wimbledon Championships between 1920 and 1925 . He achieved his best performance in 1925 when he moved into the third round, in which he was defeated by the American Raymond John Casey in three sets. In the same year he also played for Sweden in the Davis Cup against the Netherlands ; but he had to admit defeat in both singles against Hendrik Timmer and Arthur Diemer-Kool and in doubles alongside Marcus Wallenberg .
Von Braun also competed in the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp . In the individual he reached the second round, in which he was defeated by the Belgian Albert Lammen . In doubles alongside Sune Malmström , he was eliminated in the first game, also against Lammers and his compatriot Jean Washer .
He died in 1981 at the age of almost 85.
