Erika Ligeti (born March 30, 1934 in Budapest , † July 30, 2004 in Szentendre ) was a Hungarian sculptor and medalist .

Live and act

Erika Ligeti studied at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts ("MKE") with Iván Szabó .

Her work was characterized by her occupation with the techniques of bronze casting and terracotta . A large part of her work was medal art and relief . At first she designed her work poetically, but she also often showed humorous medals and sculptures.

Erika Ligeti lived in the artists' colony in Szentendre . She had many solo exhibitions at home and abroad, took part in symposia, in Kremnica / Slovakia, in Latvia and in Hungary.

From 1969 in Prague until her death, she was represented in the Hungarian collection of the international medal society " Fédération Internationale de la Médaille " (FIDEM).

There are sculptures in Siófok , Gardony, Budapest . In 2000, a relief was made on Simone Weill in Würzburg , designed by Erika Ligeti.
