The commemorative medal of the Italo -Turkish War ( it. Medaglia commemorativa della guerra italo-turca ) was an award of the Kingdom of Italy , which on November 21, 1912 by decree 1342 by King Victor Emanuel III. was donated in one step. The medal was awarded to the Italian participants in the Italo-Turkish War , who were involved in combat operations between September 29, 1911 and October 18, 1912.

Appearance and wearing style

The round silver-plated medal shows on its obverse the head bust of the donor, looking to the left, under whose neck end the manufacturer's abbreviation L. GIORGI can be found. The bust is surrounded by the signature VITTORIO · EMANVELLE · III · RE · D´ITALIA . The reverse shows, within a closed laurel wreath with fruits, the three-line embossed inscription GUERRA / ITALO-TURCA / 1911-12 (Italian-Turkish War 1911-1912).

The medal was worn on the upper left chest of the borrower. The ribbon is divided vertically into six light blue and five red stripes of equal width.
