The Eris Glacier is a glacier on the east coast of Alexander I Island off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows from the Douglas Range in an easterly direction between Mount Edred and Lamina Peak in the north and Belemnite Point in the south to George VI Sound .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2010 after (136199) Eris , the second largest dwarf planet in the solar system after Pluto .
