Susi Rausche

Susi Rausche (* 1925 in Hamburg ; † 2015 ) was a German rowing athlete.

Career

Rausche was interested in rowing from a young age and became a member of the Hamburg Rowing Club from 1925 . As a discipline within the rowing sport, she chose the quadruple scull with helmswoman . Together with her team (Rausche, Liesel Kroymann , Christel Opitz , Gerda Dyck and the helmsman Jutta Wilcke ), their team was soon used in national competitions. As early as 1951, her boat was first in the double foursome with helmswoman and thus German champion. The team repeated this success in 1952 and 1953.

For this success, Rausche and her rowing team were awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf by Federal President Theodor Heuss on December 17, 1953 .
