Erlus ( spelling : ERLUS ) is a leading manufacturer of roof tiles, chimney systems and ventilation networks for single-family houses in the German construction industry, with its headquarters in Neufahrn in Lower Bavaria .

history

The first brick factory was founded in Ergoldsbach as early as 1842 . In 1870 arose from the private brickyard the shares Brickyard Ergoldsbach and the company has been expanded. After financial difficulties, the foreclosure auction took place in 1897 and the company was renamed the Falzziegel- und Dachplattefabrik Ergoldsbach Max Weinschenk vorm. Share tile , which in turn merged seven years later in the Ergoldsbach roof tile works . After various company takeovers and setbacks in the meantime, including a major fire on May 14, 1962, the company was renamed Erlus Baustoffwerke AG in 1970 . Numerous new buildings, company acquisitions and modernizations shaped the following 30 years until the company was renamed Erlus AG in 2004.

In December 2008 and the beginning of 2009, the Federal Cartel Office imposed substantial fines on Erlus and eight other companies in the clay roof tile industry totaling 188 million euros for participating in anti-competitive agreements for clay roof tiles. In 2006, almost the entire industry agreed to raise prices by 4 to 6% by levying what is known as an "energy surcharge". Almost all of the accused companies objected to the fines. In the proceedings before the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court, Erlus finally accepted a fine of 2.5 million euros in 2015.

The Erlus AG share was traded on the Munich Stock Exchange ( m: access ) until the end of June 2016 .
