Ermen Julian Reyes-Napoles (born July 5, 1989 in Rudolstadt ) is a former German basketball player . The construction player was part of the Science City Jena squad for years . In the basketball Bundesliga he played 113 games, making him the Bundesliga record player in the Saalestadt.
career
Reyes-Napoles, whose father comes from the Caribbean island of Cuba , went to the sports high school in Jena from 2001 and went through the junior department of TuS Jena . In 2006 he made the jump from the youth to Jena's second division squad and in the 2006/07 season he won the second division south with the Thuringians. In October 2007 he made his debut in the basketball league for Jena . In March 2008, Reyes-Napoles was banned after the substance tetrahydrocannabinol was found in his doping sample . He admitted the offense. Reyes-Napoles received a seven-month worldwide ban.
Over the years, Reyes-Napoles became the darling of the Jena crowd, and the then coach Björn Harmsen described his role in the team as an “identification figure” on the occasion of the extension player's contract in June 2014. In 2016 Reyes-Napoles won the championship title in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA with Jena and thus rose to the Bundesliga for the second time. In the summer of 2020, he retired from competitive sports and embarked on a career in the police force. The club also announced that it will no longer give out its jersey number in the future.
National team
In 2005 Reyes-Napoles was part of the German U16 national team.
