Ernest Gaubert

Ernest Gaubert (born January 27, 1880 in Saint-André-de-Sangonis , Département Hérault , † January 6, 1945 in Paris ) was a French journalist, author, poet, novelist, Romance writer and biographer.

life and work

Marie-Ernest-Augustin Gaubert de Valette de Favier went to Paris at the age of 18 and led a literary and journalistic life there. He wrote poems, plays, numerous novels and above all biographies of contemporary authors. After the World War he devoted himself entirely to the newspaper industry. The involvement of his family in the collaboration in France (1940-1944) caused him to go into hiding in 1944, but he was no longer able to cope with the associated hardships.
