Saint-André-de-Sangonis ( Occitan : Sant Andrieu de Sangònis ) is a French commune with 5927 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitania region ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Lodève and is part of the canton of Gignac . The inhabitants are called Saint-Andréens .

Saint-André-de-Sangonis lies on the rivers Hérault , which also forms the eastern municipal boundary, and Lergue , which forms the western boundary. It is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Montpeyroux in the north, Lagamas in the northeast, Gignac in the east, Pouzols in the southeast, Canet in the south, Brignac in the southwest, Ceyras and Saint-Félix-de-Lodez in the west and Jonquières and Saint-Saturnin-de- Lucian in the northwest.
The A750 autoroute runs through the municipality .
