Saint-Bauzille-de-Putois ( Occitan : Sent Bausèli ) is a French commune in the Hérault department in the region of Occitania .

The territory of the municipality extends over 18.16 km² and is traversed by the Hérault . Seen from Ganges , which marks the entrance to the Cevennes , the municipality is about ten kilometers south, on the road to Montpellier .

The municipality has 1977 inhabitants (January 1, 2017) called "Saint-Bauzillois".

As a sight, the Grotto des Demoiselles is the most famous tourist attraction.

The origin of the place name is quite unclear. While the saint's name refers to a martyr from Nîmes , "putois" can be traced back to "puits" (wells) or to a locally widespread wild plant in medieval references.
