Saint-Michel (also: Saint-Michel-d'Alajou , Occitan : Sant Miquèl ) is a French commune with 48 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region (before 2016 Languedoc-Roussillon ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Lodève and the canton of Lodève (until 2015 Le Caylar ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Michelains .

Saint-Michel is about 43 kilometers west-northwest of Montpellier . The municipality borders on Le Cros in the north and north-west, Sorbs in the north and north-east, Vissec in the north-east, Saint-Maurice-Navacelles in the east, La Vacquerie-et-Saint-Martin-de-Castries in the south-east, Saint-Pierre-de- la-Fage in the south, Saint-Étienne-de-Gourgas in the southwest and Pégairolles-de-l'Escalette in the west.
