Mourèze ( Occitan : Morese ) is a place and a municipality in the south of France with 197 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitania region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Lodève and the canton of Clermont-l'Hérault . The inhabitants are called Mourèzois .

Mourèze is about 41 kilometers west of Montpellier . Mourèze is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Liausson in the north, Clermont-l'Hérault in the east, Villeneuvette in the east and south-east, Cabrières in the south, Valmascle in the south-west, Salasc in the west and Octon in the north-west.
