Soubès ( Occitan : Sobès ) is a place and a municipality in the south of France with 931 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Languedoc-Roussillon ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Lodève and the canton of Lodève . The inhabitants are called Soubésiens .

location

Soubès is about 46 kilometers northwest of Montpellier . The Lergue River limits the municipality to the west. Soubès is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pégairolles-de-l'Escalette in the north and north-west, Saint-Étienne-de-Gouras in the east, Fozières in the south, Lodève in the south-west and Poujols in the west and south-west.

The A75 autoroute runs along the western edge of the municipality .
