Gorniès ( Occitan Gornièrs ) is a place and a municipality in the south of France with 127 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Languedoc-Roussillon ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Lodève and the canton Lodève (until 2015 Ganges ). The inhabitants are called Gorniésains or Gornièssois .

location

Gorniès is located about 36 kilometers north-northwest of Montpellier in the southern foothills of the Cevennes on the Vis . Gorniès is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Montdardier in the north, Saint-Laurent-le-Minier in the north and northeast, Cazilhac in the northeast, Brissac in the east, Saint-André-de-Buèges and Saint-Jean-de-Buèges in the south and Rogues in the West and southwest.
