Cazilhac ( Occitan Casilhac ) is a place and a municipality in southern France with 1,517 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitania region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Lodève and the canton of Lodève (until 2015: canton of Ganges ). The inhabitants are called Cazilhacois .

location

Cazilhac is located about 37 kilometers north-northwest of Montpellier in the southern foothills of the Cevennes . The Hérault limits the municipality to the northeast. Cazilhac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Julien-de-la-Nef and Ganges in the north, Laroque in the east, Agonès in the east and south-east, Brissac in the south, Gorniès in the south-west and Saint-Laurent-le-Minier in the west.
