Oppitz is the author of the play Gotteskretärin , which premiered in January 2008 under his own direction at the theater Die Bühne in Purkersdorf near Vienna. Lilian Klebow , Verena Scheitz and Hansi Lang played the leading roles . The satirical piece describes the psycho-duel between an unemployed secretary and God shortly before the end of the world, which God absolutely does not want to prevent, since he had to experience throughout his perennial existence that everything only got worse through his interference. In the course of the action, God appears alternately as man and woman. He is "flexible" as he says himself. For Hansi Lang, “Herr Gott” was to be his last role in the theater. A resumption in autumn of the same year failed because of his sudden death.

Another theater work is the tragic comedy On Vacation , which Klaus Oppitz wrote together with Rudi Roubinek and Reinhard Nowak for the Rabenhof Theater in Vienna . The world premiere took place in 2010 under the direction of Roman Freiaßner with Roubinek and Nowak in the leading roles. The play is about two rival Thailand vacationers, through whose conflicts with each other their respective life crises become visible.
