Aspiran ( Occitan : identical) is a place and a municipality in the south of France with 1,648 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitania region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Lodève and the canton of Clermont-l'Hérault . The inhabitants are called aspiranais .

location

Aspiran is about 34 kilometers west-southwest of Montpellier . Aspiran is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Nébian in the north, Canet in the northeast, Tressan in the east, Paulhan in the south and southeast, Adissan in the south, Fontès in the southwest, Péret in the west and Lieuran-Cabrières in the northwest.

The A75 autoroute runs through the municipality .
