Tressan is located on the left bank of the Hérault , about 40 kilometers west of Montpellier and 40 kilometers northeast of Béziers on a hill and is surrounded by vineyards.

history

Tressan belonged to the Counts of Guilhem de Montpellier in the 12th century . Tressan's town center is fortified. The medieval city was used to control the trade and travel routes in the area. The valley of the Hérault was once cultivated by Benedictines ; Swampy areas were drained in order to be able to operate agriculture and viticulture.
