Lavalette ( Occitan : La Valeta ) is a place and a municipality in the south of France with 62 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitania region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Lodève and the canton Lodève (until 2015: canton Lunas ). The inhabitants are called Lavalettois .

Lavalette is about 45 kilometers west-northwest of Montpellier . Lavalette is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lodève in the north and northeast, Olmet-et-Villecun in the east, Le Puech in the east and southeast, Octon in the south and southeast and Lunas in the west and northwest.
