Plaissan ( identical in Occitan ) is a town in the south of France and a municipality with 1,196 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitania region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Lodève and the canton of Gignac . The inhabitants are called Plaissanais .

location

Plaissan is about 34 kilometers northeast of Béziers and about 28 kilometers west-southwest of Montpellier . Plaissan is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Pouget in the north, Vendémian in the north and east, Aumelas in the east and south-east, Saint-Pargoire in the south, Bélarga in the west and Puilacher in the west and north-west.
