Ernest Jules Henri Jean Marie Gevers (born August 28, 1891 in Antwerp , † 1965 ) was a Belgian sword fencer .

successes

Ernest Gevers took part in two Olympic Games : in 1920 he reached the final round with the team in Antwerp , in which they only had to admit defeat to Italy . Together with Paul Anspach , Victor Boin , Joseph De Craecker , Maurice de Wée , Félix Goblet d'Alviella , Philippe Le Hardy de Beaulieu , Fernand de Montigny and Léon Tom , he won the silver medal. In the individual competition, finishing fourth, he just missed another medal win. At the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924 , he repeated his success in the team competition, this time when he again finished second behind France with the Belgian team . In addition to Paul Anspach, Joseph De Craecker, Charles Delporte , Fernand de Montigny and Léon Tom, Gevers won another silver medal. He finished the individual in twelfth place.
