He also took part in two Olympic Games: 1920 in Antwerp and 1924 in Paris .

In Antwerp he started over 800 meters , over 3000 meters obstacle and together with Augusto Maccario , Carlo Speroni and Carlo Martinenghi in the team run over 3000 meters. He failed over 800 meters in fourth of his semi-final run, although he stayed under two minutes. In the final over 3000 meter obstacle, however, he was able to relegate the Swede Gustaf Mattsson to fourth place and behind the superior winner Percy Hodge from the United Kingdom (gold in 10: 00.4 min) and the American Patrick Flynn (silver in 10: 21.1 min) secure the bronze medal. Only the winning time was stopped; all other times were estimated. Ambrosini was about 50 meters behind Flynn. In the final of the team run over 3000 meters, the three best Italians ran in 9th, 14th and 15th position, which brought them to 5th and last place.

Ambrosini was unlucky in Paris. Over 3000 meters obstacle he retired as fourth of his run; he couldn't get up to the time with which he had become Italian champion (9: 53.0 min). The Italian team over 3000 meters (consisting of Angelo Davoli , Ferruccio Bruni , Giovanni Garaventa and Ambrosini) failed in the preliminary run.
