Ernesto Vogt

Ernesto Vogt SJ (born January 30, 1903 in Basel ; † February 28, 1984 ) was a Swiss Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

The brother Emil Vogt joined in 1921 the Jesuits in 1933 and received in Innsbruck the priesthood . After completing his doctorate at the Pontificio Istituto Biblico with a thesis on the belief in election in the Old Testament , he taught in theologate São Leopoldo from 1939 to 1948 and from 1949 in Rome at his alma mater, of which he was rector until 1963.
