Erni Kniepert
Erni Kniepert ; also Erni Kniepert-Fellerer (* 3. October 1911 in Reichenau an der Rax , Lower Austria , † 5. March 1990 in Vienna ) was an Austrian costume designer. In 1958 she received the City of Vienna Prize for Fine Arts in the Applied Art category.
Life
Erni Kniepert worked as a costume designer for the film from 1939 ( Immortal Waltz , 1939; Who the Gods Love , 1942). From 1941 she also worked for the Vienna Burgtheater and from 1944 for the Salzburg Festival . Kniepert continued her career seamlessly after 1945, she initially worked for the Vienna Volksoper and was responsible for the costumes of Fidelio , the opening performance of the Vienna State Opera , in 1955 . She also worked in the 1939 Hollywood film The Wizard of Oz ( The Land of Magic ). Kniepert was married to the architect Max Fellerer since 1939 .
