Max Fellerer

Max Fellerer (born October 15, 1889 in Linz , † March 27, 1957 in Vienna ) was an Austrian architect.

Life

Fellerer graduated from the Realschule in Linz and studied at the Technical University of Vienna with Karl König and then at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Otto Wagner .

In 1913 Fellerer worked in the studio of the architect Josef Hoffmann and in the Wiener Werkstätte , which came to an end with his military service in the First World War . From 1919 to 1926 he was chief architect at Josef Hoffmann. From 1926 worked for the architect Clemens Holzmeister and there from 1928 to 1934 chief architect in his studio. From 1934 to 1954 he shared a studio with the architect Eugen Wörle .

From 1932 Fellerer was associate professor at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and was director of the Vienna School of Applied Arts from 1934 to 1938 , and was deposed as director when Austria was annexed to Hitler's Germany.

He was buried at the Vienna Central Cemetery.
