Ernie Pomfret
Ernie Pomfret (actually Ernest Pomfret; born April 18, 1941 in Haswell , County Durham ; † May 1, 2001 in Sunderland , Tyne and Wear ) was a British obstacle runner .
Over 3000 m obstacle he was tenth at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964.
In 1966 he finished sixth for England at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston . At the European Athletics Championships in Budapest , he came in twelfth place.
He set his personal best over 3000 m obstacle of 8: 37.0 min on July 15, 1967 in London .
