Ernie Shelton
Ernie Shelton (actually Ernest Shelton; born October 28, 1932 ) is a former American high jumper .
In 1955 he won the Pan American Games in Mexico City , and in 1957 he won bronze at the World University Games .
He was twice a US champion outdoors (1954, 1955) and indoors (1955, 1956). In 1954 and 1955 (with his personal best of 2.11 m) he won the NCAA title for the University of Southern California .
After his sporting career he became a successful sculptor .
