Ernst-August Hoppenbrock (* 23. March 1948 in Melle ) is a German local politician of the CDU and former member of the parliament of Lower Saxony .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1967, he did his military service as a trainer with the Air Force in Budel ( Netherlands ) and began an agricultural apprenticeship a year later. Then he ran his parents' business in Melle. In 1986 he founded his own company, "Hoppenbrock Tierzucht GmbH".

politics

In 1982 he joined the CDU. From 1989 he was chairman of the CDU local association Melle-Mitte, from 1994 to 2007 he was chairman of the CDU city association Melle. Hoppenbrock was a member of the City Council of Melle from 1996 to 2004 and a member of the district council of the Osnabrück district from 2001 to 2006 and since 2011. Hoppenbrock is also chairman of the administrative board of the Kreissparkasse Melle.

For three electoral terms, from 1998 to 2013, Ernst-August Hoppenbrock was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament. He was elected as a direct candidate in the constituency of Melle . From 2003 to 2013 Hoppenbrock was a member of the Committee for Economy, Labor and Transport, chairman of the working group "Economy, Labor and Transport" of the CDU parliamentary group and economic policy spokesman for the parliamentary group.

Ernst-August Hoppenbrock is a son of August Hoppenbrock , who was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1955 to 1967. Hoppenbrock is married and has three children.
