Ernst Christian Achtung (born September 6, 1837 in Kassel , † November 3, 1874 in Heilbronn ) was a German merchant in Heilbronn and left the city with important foundations for charitable purposes.

Ernst Achtung and his wife Auguste Louis geb. Wernecke (1844–1880) lived in Heilbronn since 1873 and bequeathed large sums to the city for charitable purposes. According to Ernst Achtungs will of June 1874, the city received 97,090 marks in cash, 30 hectares of property in Aschersleben, the birthplace of his wife, and other stock assets. 100,000 marks from the donation were used to cover the construction costs of the former city ​​baths on Wollhausplatz . Further funds flowed into today's Natural History Museum in the Fleischhaus , when it opened on June 24, 1879 Auguste Achtung donated another 1,000 gold marks.

The grave of Ernst Achtung is in the old cemetery in Heilbronn. The Heilbronner Achtungstraße has been bearing the name of the founder since 1881.
