Ernst August Abich

Ernst Abich (full name Ernst August Abich ; * 1814 in Hammenstedt , † after 1880) was a Hanoverian court - rust master .

Life

Ernst August Abich was born as the son of the gunsmith Ernst Abich († 1842 in Northeim ) and grew up in the first years of the Kingdom of Hanover . He completed his apprenticeship with his father until 1826.

From 1826 to 1835 Abich served in the Hanover military.

In the royal seat of Hanover , Abich applied for membership in the local guild in 1845 , which, however, initially rejected his membership. Barely a decade later, however, from 1854 he was a citizen of the city of Hanover and admitted as a guild master. A short time later, the Court and State Manual for the Kingdom of Hanover listed Rustmeister Abich as the holder of the silver merit medal for the year 1856 .

During his participation in the 6th general trade exhibition of the trade association for the Kingdom of Hanover in 1859, "EA Abich, Military Rustmaster of Hanover" received special attention. The jury judged one of the rifles on display: "This exhibitor deserves an honorable mention for a half-stocked rifle, which was judged to be a well-made, practical rifle and cheap in price (25 [...])".

Rustmeister Abich took part in the formation of the Guard Jäger Battalion at the celebrations for the unveiling of the Ernst August Memorial in front of Hanover's main train station .

In 1864 Ernst August Abich took part in the war against Holstein . Abich, who temporarily resided at Calenberger Strasse 6, was appointed Royal Hanoverian Court Rustmeister in 1865. The address book and business manual of the royal residence city of Hanover for the year 1869 recorded the seat of the Hof-Rustmeister, who had been awarded the Silver Wilhelms Medal for 25 years of membership in the Hanoverian Army in addition to the Medal of Merit , at “Kalenbergerstr. 5 II. “As a former participant in the Battle of Langensalza in 1866, King George V of Hanover later honored him with the award of the Langensalza Medal .
