Ernst August von Meding (Lieutenant General)

Ernst August von Meding (born January 12, 1711 ; † 1794 ) was a Braunschweig-Lüneburg nobleman and officer .

Ernst August von Meding, son of Christoph Ernst von Meding (1669–1737), was a member of the Lüneburg noble family Meding and as such heir to the office of Hereditary Land Marshal of Lüneburg, after his death his brother Christian Friedrich August von Meding (1735–1825 ) The institution.

In 1768 he became major general of the infantry , in 1777 lieutenant general . He was married to Wilhelmina Sibylla von Oldershausen (1734-1804). Her sons were Ernst August Detlef von Meding (1862–1830), lawyer, and Franz von Meding (1765–1849), Hanoverian miner and cabinet minister.
