Ernst Bartholomé
Ernst Friedrich Ludwig Bartholomé (born November 26, 1908 in Mönchengladbach ; † June 7, 1990 in Heidelberg ) was a German chemist and co-developer of the Sachsse-Bartholomé process .
Life
Bartholomé studied natural sciences in Freiburg i. Br. And Berlin. In Freiburg he joined the KStV Flamberg and in Berlin the KStV Semnonia in the cartel association. In 1933 he received his doctorate at the Euckens Institute for Physical Chemistry in Göttingen on the IR spectrum of simple gas molecules. He then worked with Klaus Clusius on the newly discovered deuterium . In 1937 he moved to BASF in Ludwigshafen, where he worked with Matthias Pier on partial methane combustion during the Second World War . After receiving his new habilitation in Heidelberg in 1949, he gave lectures there on chemical process engineering . In 1954 he received the Dechema Prize .
