Clemens Körner

Clemens Körner (born May 7, 1959 in Speyer ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Körner completed an apprenticeship as a senior civil servant and became a graduate in administration. He then studied at the Administration and Business Academy in Mannheim. He worked for the district administration of the district of Ludwigshafen (today Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis ) before he switched to business in 1995 and worked as an authorized signatory.

Körner joined the CDU in 1978. He has been an active member of the Kolping family since childhood . In 1984 Körner was elected to the municipal council of Dudenhofen , 1989 to the Verbandsgemeinderat of the Verbandsgemeinde Dudenhofen and 1999 to the district council of the Ludwigshafen district. In 1997 he became the mayor of Dudenhofen and in 2001 he was also the mayor of the Dudenhofen community.

In the election for the district administrator of the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis, he prevailed in the runoff election in 2009 with 57 percent of the vote. On March 5, 2017, Körner was re-elected for a second term with 68.9 percent of the vote; the turnout was 38.8 percent.

Clemens Körner is married and has two children.
