Ernst Berg (agricultural scientist, 1948)

Ernst Berg (born September 19, 1948 in Mengigart ) is a German agricultural economist.

Life

Ernst Berg studied agricultural sciences at the University of Bonn and received his doctorate in 1976 from the Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelm University. In 1980 Berg completed his habilitation in Bonn and then went to Michigan State University for a research stay . From 1984 to 1985 he took over the professorship for systems theory and system simulation in agricultural operations in Bonn and from 1986 to 1989 he represented the chair for horticultural management at the University of Hanover .

From 1993 to 2014, Berg held the chair for production and environmental economics at the University of Bonn. During this time he was dean of the agricultural faculty for several terms . After Berg's retirement, his successor was Robert Finger, who was previously an assistant professor at Wageningen University.

Honors

In 1985 Ernst Berg was awarded the Theodor Brinkmann Prize .
