Ernst Cammann (politician)

Ernst Cammann (born May 8, 1888 in Celle ; † February 24, 1978 in Obernkirchen ) was a German farmer and politician ( DNVP , CDU ).

Cammann first attended grammar school in Greiz and later switched to secondary school in Gera . After graduating, he first worked as a farmer and visited various estates for further training. In the First World War he was a war participant between 1916 and 1918. In 1918 he took over his father's business in Belum . He was elected mayor in 1923 and was also a member of the district council of the Neuhaus an der Oste district . He later became a member of the Stahlhelm, Bund der Frontsoldaten, and was the local group leader here. Cammann was a member of the German National People's Party and its chairman in Neuhaus / Oste. He later became a district committee member in Hadeln until April 1933, but then resigned all offices after the seizure of power .

In 1945 he was appointed mayor of Belum. After the war he became a member of the CDU. In 1945 he became a member of the district committee and a member of the district council. Cammann was a member of the appointed Hanover State Parliament from August 23, 1946 to October 29, 1946.
