Ernst Fischermeier

Ernst Fischermeier (born November 3, 1952 in Nuremberg ) is a German lawyer and former judge at the Federal Labor Court .

Live and act

After studying law and completing his legal clerkship and the associated state exams, Fischermeier joined the judicial service of the Free State of Bavaria in 1981 and was initially assigned to the Nuremberg Labor Court . In 1986, he was from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg with the administrative writing "The Inschutznahme the monument and nature conservation law and its importance in the administrative case law" Dr. iur. PhD.

This was followed by secondments to the Nuremberg Regional Labor Court and the Bavarian State Ministry for Labor and Social Affairs . On October 1, 1992, Fischermeier was transferred to the Free State of Saxony, where he held the position of presiding judge at the Saxon State Labor Court .

In June 1994, Fischermeier was appointed judge at the Federal Labor Court and initially assigned to the Second Senate. In 2001 he moved to the Tenth Senate as deputy chairman. In March 2005 he became chairman of the Sixth Senate, which is primarily responsible for collective bargaining law. He held this position until he retired at the end of May 2018.

As chairman of the Sixth Senate, Fischermeier has decisively influenced the interpretation of the new collective agreement law in the public service as well as the case law on insolvency labor law and church labor law. The jurisdiction he helped shape led, among other things, to an amendment to Section 142 InsO . Fischermeier has also made a scientific contribution to the right of extraordinary dismissal and church labor law and has made a name for himself through his contributions in specialist labor law comments.
