Ernst Frenzel (born October 25, 1904 in Koblenz , † August 25, 1978 in Norden ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ) and SA leader .

Life

After attending elementary school , upper secondary school and secondary school, Ernst Frenzel completed an apprenticeship in banking. Later he also went through some courses at an administration academy. Until 1932 he earned his living as a bank clerk at a giro center in Weimar.

In 1923 he was initially a member of the Deutschvölkischer Schutz- und Trutzbund , but in the same year he joined the NSDAP. On March 27, 1925, he rejoined the party after being banned. In January 1932 Frenzel became a full-time SA leader. In addition, he took on tasks as a speaker of the NSDAP and as an adjutant of the SA group Thuringia. As SA-Standartenführer he was from May 1936 to May 1937 leader of the SA-Standarte 95 (SA-Gruppe Thuringia). He reached a high point of his SA career when he was promoted to SA Oberführer on May 1, 1937 and took over the leadership of SA Brigade 44 “Thuringia West”, which he held until May 31, 1943. From March 1938 until the end of the war he was also councilor of the city of Eisenach .

After he had run unsuccessfully in the Reichstag election on March 29, 1936 , Frenzel entered the National Socialist Reichstag on March 17, 1937 as a replacement for the late MP Karl Rompel , in which he held the constituency until the end of Nazi rule in spring 1945 12 (Thuringia). From September 1939 to November 1942 he did military service in a grenadier regiment. During this time he was promoted to SA Brigade Leader on January 30, 1940 . In 1942 he was commanded by the Supreme SA leadership in the Foreign Office. At the beginning of 1943 he took up this service. Until the end of the war he was acting group leader of the Inland I division in the Federal Foreign Office . At the same time he was on the personal staff of the Reich Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop .
