Ernst Friedrich Wilhelm Schulze (also Ernestus Fridericus Guilielmus Schulze ; born January 21, 1759 in Celle ; † October 1, 1820 ibid) was a German lawyer as well as city counsel and mayor of the city of Celle.

Life

From 1790 Schulze initially worked as a councilor in his hometown at the address Großer Plan 1 . In 1796 he became city secretary and in the following year 1797 he was mayor of Celle. In 1801 he also took over the office of city syndic.

Schulze married the third marriage on January 11, 1799 in Harburg, the Antoinette Christine Elisabeth Schwarz (born November 19, 1780 in Lüneburg , † August 23, 1864 in the monastery Wienhausen ). Schulzestrasse

Schulzestrasse and Welfenstrasse in the Heese area of ​​the city of Celle were originally named after the mayor of Celle. At the beginning of November 2016, the previous explanatory road sign was replaced by a new one. On the legend table there are now references to both namesake; from 1797 to 1820 mayor Dr. Ernst Friedrich Wilhelm Schulze, supplemented by “his son Ernst Schulze , 1789–1817, an important romantic poet”. The board, which was newly installed by the Celle city administration, was presented with a reading by students from the Ernestinum grammar school , which was attended by Lothar Haas, chairman of the newly founded Ernst Schulze Society. The poet Schulze was a pupil of the Latin school, today's Ernestinum.
