Ernst Helwing
Heinrich Christian Karl Ernst Helwing (born October 4, 1803 in Lemgo , † April 25, 1875 in Berlin ) was a German historian .
Ernst Helwing, son of the court book dealer Leopold Helwing, studied philology, history and geography at the Berlin University , especially under Friedrich von Raumer and Carl Ritter , received his doctorate in 1825 and habilitated in history and political science at the Philosophical Faculty of Berlin University in 1829. In 1834 he was appointed associate professor and in 1849 full professor.
