Ernst Jakober

Ernst Jakober (born January 21, 1953 ) is a Swiss organ player , former conductor and independent music producer . He is entitled to live in Glarus and lives today on the Benkner Büchel in Benken .

Before he founded his own company "Oergelihuus", he was employed by Swissair . With his wife Beatrice and his father Franz he formed the country band “De urchige Glarner”. They were accompanied by various bass violin players, including Ruedi Schmid, Ueli Jüsterich and Dominik Marty . In addition to around 150 instrumental compositions, he composed songs in which he presented his philosophy of life. He published them partly with guest groups and Dominik Marty. The formation began after his marriage on March 20, 1976. They made a public appearance on Kilimanjaro . 1984 initiated Ernst Jakober the Landler Christmas in the sports center Glarner Unterland (SGU) in Näfels , an occasion that has since held annually in December. His Ländlerkapelle officially existed until 1993.

Another distinctive station was recordings with the Echo vom Hirsch band - sometimes Ernst Jakober yodeled to the music in his unmistakable way.
